One of the most popular Disney movies of all time is capturing hearts in a whole new way: as a practically perfect musical!
The jack-of-all trades, Bert, introduces us to England in 1910 and the troubled Banks family. Young Jane and Michael have sent many a nanny packing before Mary Poppins arrives on their doorstep. Using a combination of magic and common sense, she must teach the family members how to value each other again. Mary Poppins takes the children on many magical and memorable adventures, but Jane and Michael aren't the only ones upon whom she has a profound effect. Even grown-ups can learn a lesson or two from the nanny who advises that "Anything can happen if you let it."
Students who are new to the stage or with years of experience are invited to audition for a show that is sure to be one SUPERCALIFRAGILISTICEXPIALIDOCIOUS experience!
6:30-7:45: Voice and acting auditions.
The vocal audition with Jeff Davison and Victoria Alvarado. Jeff will accompany performers on the piano as they sing 32 bars, or measures, of music. All performers should bring music to the audition and have the 32 measures you would like to sing clearly marked. Make sure that the music is a piece that highlights your vocal ability. Musicnotes.com or J.W. Pepper Sheet Music are great resources for music and lyrics. Acting auditions will be with Ann Davison where performers will deliver their 1 minute monologue.
NEW to this production we will be auditioning for a dance ensemble. We are inviting all trained dancers to audition from 7:45 - 8:30. Please be sure to wear appropriate dance wear with character or jazz shoes.Performers who are not auditioning for the dance ensemble will be excused at 7:45.
