BYPC Music
Our music faculty is comprised of degreed, experienced instructors who are accomplished musicians in their own right. They understand and respect children and young adults, and genuinely enjoy working with them. Our teachers provide the technical expertise, encouragement, and support that enable young musicians to learn, grow, and achieve their desired level of musical proficiency at a pace that's right for them.
Comprehensive Curriculum:
The Music Program at BYPC accommodates students from birth through the teen years. Each level of instruction is age appropriate and grounded in solid curriculum designed to produce knowledgeable, skilled, confident musicians. Programs for more accomplished student musicians include master classes and workshops taught by guest musicians to broaden students' exposure to different music genres and ways of learning.
Instruction in Every Genre:
We offer instruction in classical, jazz, popular, blues and rock music, and our faculty specializes in each genre. Though we strive to give students broad exposure to different types of music, students who choose to concentrate on a particular genre are fully supported and encouraged.
Performing Opportunities:
Students who wish to perform for an audience have numerous opportunities to do so throughout the academic year. BYPC recitals and peer workshops enable students to build performance skills, musicality and artistic style before small audiences. Students who join a BYPC ensemble, rock band or the BYPC Musical Theatre Pit Orchestra perform at BYPC concerts and musicals. BYPC is active in community outreach, and our efforts are supported by students who perform at a variety of venues on behalf of our non-profit community partners.
