GROWING GIFTS THROUGH MUSIC

BYPC Music

The Music Program at BYPC provides quality music education for students of all ages and levels of musical proficiency. Our comprehensive program centers on private instruction in 11 different instruments, including voice, and is designed to develop technically excellent, well-rounded musicians. Music theory, sight-reading, playing, ear training, and improvisation are part of all courses of private study. Ensembles and bands focused on different music genres enable students to broaden their music education, refine their skills, and experience the pleasure and camaraderie of playing music with a group. In addition, our musicians enjoy numerous opportunities to play for audiences in a variety of venues.

Programs for babies and toddlers employ the nationally renowned Musikgarten curriculum in a joyful, playful environment. The program familiarizes youngsters with music and gives them a solid foundation on which to build musical knowledge and skills. Youngsters with a Musikgarten background are well prepared for private instrumental instruction.

Students enrolled in private lessons have opportunities to perform in two concerts and two peer performance workshops conducted in groups of 3-4 students. The workshops are designed to provide feedback that is useful to students in building performance skills including musicality and artistic style.
